Day 18 - plans/dreams/goals you have

As of now, all of my plans/dreams/goals are wrapped up in one essential worry...

I must get a job in Chicago. I must I must I must.

It's a tad (well, more than a tad) frustrating to be doing so well here and then have to start all over again in this painstaking job hunt process.

Today, our assistant superintendent told me that "good teachers are gems" and that he "thought they would have a very hard time trying to replace me." It's hard to go from that kind of encouragement to the the oh-so-insecure world of resume-submitting and endless applications.

day 17 - someone you would want to switch lives with for one day and why

I should really pick someone inspirational...like, what would it be like to switch days with the incomparable Archbishop Desmond Tutu? I admire him immensely, and I think that perhaps if the prompt were "switch a month" or even a week with someone, I would pick someone like that who I truly look up to. Or perhaps I would pick one of my favorite actors.

For just a day though, I have no doubts who I would want to be - even if it is kind of superficial.

I would soooo switch lives with Scarlett Johansson. Not only is she a glamorous movie star, but also...so hot. I would have to spend at least an hour just looking in the mirror :) I just think she's a classic beauty - she can work pretty much work any look, and I will willingly admit that at heart I'm still a little bit of the insecure teenager sometimes. So yes, I would trade days with Scarlett Johansson for the chance to be the prettiest girl in the world. It may be shallow, but I'm pretty sure it'd be an awesome day!

Day 16 - a picure of you

Summer 2006 - July 25

So, I debated long and hard about what picture to post for this post. That's excuse #1 I have for completely abandoning this blog for about two weeks after being so faithful. Excuse #2 comes from the insane amount of work I've been putting in at school trying to run (it seems like) everything. Excuse #3 is I've recently been introduced to tumblr, which is painlessly awesome. I like it quite thoroughly. However, I do want to keep this up at least through the 30 Days posts.

I picked this picture because out of all 920 (that's right) photos of me on my facebook account, I've always thought this picture truly captured me in an almost unposed, genuinely happy moment. Andrew always fusses at me for posing in pictures - but hey, if I don't I end up with a nasty case of double-chin. Anyway though, I love this picture. We have a whole series of photos taken on that day - it was the summer that I worked as a lifeguard at the pool, and Andrew had mono for the majority of the summer. However, at this point he was better and we were finally just enjoying the summer. I had a nice tan and my eyes were super blue in this picture :) Beyond that, though, is the fact that I can see how newly-in-love we were. I love it! Andrew is wearing that goofy look I think is so cute, and I can see how much I love us together in this picture. It just captures a moment for me - we've had so many more since, but this one definitely stands out.

This is just priceless. I have had pretty much ZERO time for blogging lately, but this too great.

Day 15 - put your ipod on shuffle: first 10 songs that play

First of all, this was a difficult task becauase Andrew and I share the itunes, which meant I had to sort out the 500+ classical tracks that would not reflect my musical taste accurately. Secondly, I don't use itunes that much at all - mostly I do Pandora. So again, mostly accurate, but I also listen to a bunch of music that's not on my itunes. However, I do think this came out fairly well.
